Daisies in December???

My gerber daisies have started to bloom again! They are so confused by the weather changes that have been occurring so regularly this Autumn. It is just now getting to the point where we can begin to drag out the long sleeves and put away the sandals. I was beginning the think we might consider a picnic for Christmas!

Sew What?

I have a list of crafty projects waiting for me on my sewing table. The trouble is, I never seem to be motivated at the right time. When Micah is napping, I never seem to wander that way, but as soon as he’s up, my eyes longingly gaze at those projects I have waiting. Why is that?

I guess I must admit, I am a procrastinator. I have known this for a while, but now I want to clean up my act and the first step is admitting you have a problem, right? So there, I admitted it. What’s the next step? What am I supposed to do? Please tell me soon so I will have time to put it off a bit! :)

Happy Halloween Ya’ll!

Micah didn’t really get to dress up last Halloween. He was a few weeks old. He wore orange jammies and a pumpkin hat. So, this year is really the first Halloween at our house. I began shopping on eBay around August to see what costumes began to appear. I initially was looking for a monkey outfit, but when I saw Eeyore I knew it was the one. You see, Eeyore is Jonathan’s favorite character and I am fond of him too. If ever Micah were to dress as Eeyore, now is the time. So, I got his costume for a steal and have been looking forward to parading him around in it. Well, not really parading. Our church is having a Trunk or Treat (all the cars pull into the parking lot and open their trunks for kids to come to for candy). We are decorating the back of the Freestyle with an Eeyore house and Winnie the Pooh toys and Micah can play in there while people come by.

I am wearing my poodle skirt and fixin’s from the family music group and Jonathan is going as a PEZ dispenser. It should be lots of fun. I will post pictures soon!!!

Let’s Get This Show On The Road!!!

Well, I have had this idea for almost a year now, but things happen. I figure if I keep putting this off, I will never get it started , so here I begin. This blog will be all about life as a woman, mother, Christian, crafty chic, and life as it happens. I certainly don’t claim to be intellectual. In fact, I usually have “mommy mush brain” most of the time. If you have been a mommy, you know what I mean. Every sentence is over simplified and you can never seem to express the right thing because there are a thousand thoughts floating in your mind at that very moment that seem to make your words seem illiterate and uneducated (which you thought would never happen with a well rounded education degree from a respectable school…years and years ago). Well, anyway, I say all that to say that while I will make every attempt to be interesting, I promise nothing! :) I will, however, be myself! If I can’t get my mind off chocolate, you may hear about it. If I am feeling a bit too domestic (baking tends to become a monthly habit with me), I will share those moments as well. And, if scripture I am studying gives me a thought or two, I will do my best to share my insight.

A little bit about me…just in case you don’t know me.

My name is Kimberly and I am married to my best friend, Jonathan Snow Carpenter. We have a wonderful little boy named Micah Ryne. He is one year old (as of Oct. 13th!). He is my employer (ok, I am a stay-at-home-mommy). I grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas. I met my husband at college. We married and moved to Waco, TX for him to work on his master’s degree in music composition. I taught 3-5 grades while we were there for three years. After that, we moved to Colorado. Jonathan began doctoral work at CU in Boulder while I taught 5th grade. It was during that time that God called Jonathan into full time music ministry. We were in Colorado for a year before returning to Arkansas. Now, we currently live in Monticello, AR. We have a “sweet” cat named Ozma to round out our happy family (“sweet” meaning only to our household, everyone else BEWARE).

Anyway, now begins this blog. It may never be read, but I felt like it was something I needed to do. So here we go….Hop on along for the ride!
