Simple Pleasures….
Micah has been so whiny lately, so imagine my delight when he found amusement with an old Furby doll. He has been laughing at it and “feeding” it over and over. He especially likes pulling it’s eyelashes. Better it than me! ![]()

I haven’t written lately because we have been traveling quite a bit. In order to have income in this transition time, Jonathan is filling in and providing concerts for churches all around. We have been on the go for over month. I am certainly not complaining because this is our livelihood right now and I know that God is providing these opportunities during this time. Meanwhile, I have been enjoying blogs that I have been reading for a while. I have a few that I like to read everyday and since I am stuck at an uninspired moment, I thought I would share these blogs with you because they are worth it!
The Pioneer Woman – This site is by a woman living on a ranch with her husband and kids and any cowboys that come along. She is funny and has wonderful talent in photography. I have been reading her for a while and she is a hoot!
Ridin’ With The King – This is a friend of mine’s site. He is always a good read and likes to get ya thinkin’. He will probably get me for saying that, but oh well.
Bloggy Giveaways – Do you like free stuff? Well, this is the place. She also has a personal site called Rocks In My Dryer.
Money Saving Momma – She always has the best ways to save money. Now, if only the stores were in MY area…oh well.
Biblical Womanhood – Run by Money Saving Momma and a wonderful place to keep me focused on my purpose and challenge me. I really like this one.
Also, right now, at Biblical Womanhood, you can enter to win a gift certificate to vision forum. It is for $100. Who couldn’t use that!! Hope you try out a few of these sites!
If you are reading this, would you stop and pray for our buddy, Alan Devine. His parents are friends from college. His mom, Amy, has a blog I enjoy reading. Alan was born a month or so after Micah. He was in need of a liver transplant and around the beginning of the year, he got his new liver. He has been recovering in the hospital and during that time got an infection. This is major for someone receiving a new organ. He went into septic shock and is having to have several major IV’s to help his body adjust. He was also placed on a ventilator and I am not sure if he is off of that yet or not. Please pray for this little guy and for his sweet family. They also has another son who is staying with grandparents. Pray for his peace of mind and that the struggle of missing mommy and daddy will be softened during this time.
Also, please remember us in prayer during this weekend. We are going to Texas to interview for a church position. Pray that God gives us a peace regardless of the outcome. As most of you know, we are jobless and are praying that God would guide us carefully to His will. We want to be certain we are following His plan for us regardless of our circumstances. Pray for safe travel and include Micah in those prayers. That poor guy is going to get all thrown off schedule wise. If you have/have had a little one, you know what I mean.
I finished my sewing project that has been begging to be done. There are many more in line, but I am just glad to have this one accomplished. AND, I did it all by myself. I made Micah an outfit from the same pattern this fall with LOTS of help from Mom2 (Jonathan’s mom). This time I was determined to do all by myself and I did it! Now, there are lots of chores that have been neglected during this pursuit and I better get to them.
Micah’s “bangs” have been down in his eyes for weeks, but every time I would mention a haircut Jonathan would get a sad face and, then, grin and say, “not my Nazarite boy.” I finally convinced him we just needed to trim the front to get it out of his eyes. So, on Wednesday (the 26th), Micah got his first haircut by mommy. We can’t afford to go to the barber and who needs a barber for two or three snips? He was a good little man as long as I let him hold the comb.
